The Board Exams for class 12 stands cancelled. The Central board has been getting requests from all over the country to cancel the CBSE Board Exam for class 12. The opinions were mixed and the Centre had conducted various rounds of discussions regarding the same.  After a high chair meeting, the centre has decided to cancel the CBSE Board Exam for class 12. It was announced on Tuesday, 1st June, that the exams are officially cancelled.

Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' who is admitted in AIIMS due to post-COVID related complications, had  said that an “informed, collaborative” decision will be taken by June 1. After serious contemplation and review, the high level committee took the decision to cancel the CBSE 12th Exams. Honorable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change; Information & Broadcasting; & Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises Prakash Javadekar and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal were present in the meeting.

"Health and safety of our students is of utmost importance and there would be no compromise on this aspect," said Shri Narendra Modi on his key note address.

The situations are uncertain, to say the least. While COVID cases are on a rise, it is a risk to conduct the board exams and ask millions of students to appear for the same.  Considering the risk factor at play and the safety of the students, the committee came up with the decision to cancel the exams.

"Class XII results will be made as per well-defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner," said the honorable PM, Narendra Modi. Further details will be announced in the coming days.
