Prakash Sir is a multi-talented teacher who hails from West Bengal. He teaches multiple subjects like Mathematics, Reasoning, and Bengali. He trains the students in seeking admission in JNV(Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya) through the entrance exam called JNVST. Prakash Sir has been teaching for the past 18 years. He used to run his own coaching institute in West Bengal with a strength of more than 200 students. Unfortunately, when the pandemic hit the world and the lockdown was announced, he had to discontinue his offline coaching classes. However, the selection of his students in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya was very crucial as their whole year was at stake. A majority of his students belonged to financially challenged backgrounds, their parents couldn't afford the fees of the private schools. Therefore, securing admission in JNV was the only option for them. Prakas Sir was more worried about the selection of the students than they themselves were. In order to continue their preparation, he decided to start teaching online.
However, online teaching was new to him, and he was not tech-savvy. After trying various meeting applications, he almost gave up. As nothing matched his expectations, nor did those platforms provide a good teaching-learning experience. He started discussing the issue with his friends, and one of his friends suggested him to try Teachmint. Prakash Sir researched about the platform, read its reviews on the play store, and tested the application in each possible way. Impressed by the features, he decided to conduct online classes on Teachmint. He started teaching on Teachmint around August 2020 and has been using the app ever since.
He finds the app very easy to use. He also finds the live class recording feature beneficial as it helps his students in revisiting his classes anytime they want. He also conducts tests frequently and calls the online test feature of Teachmint extremely helpful for streamlining the process. 'I can create multiple question papers with the relevant and important questions with the help of the online test feature. The app also helps me in making the evaluation process super easy. I can not stop talking about the quality and user experience of the app, it is exemplary', said Prakash Sir.
While talking about his learnings and journey, he mentioned that he would have continued higher education if his family was not facing a financial crunch. He could not study as much as he wanted, but it never stopped him from fulfilling his dreams. This is a major reason why he works so hard with his students. Since JNV is a government school, it is less expensive and provides free study material to the students. 'I tell my story to my students and advise them to give their best in their learning years. Along with academic lessons, I also ensure that they understand the value of education and learning in life', added Prakash Sir.
