JEE Advanced Results 2020

JEE Advanced Results were published on Monday, 4th October 2020. The results were declared by IIT Delhi. 36,497 male candidates and 6,707 female candidates have qualified JEE Advanced 2020.

The exam was held on September 27 in 222 cities and 1001 JEE exam centers across the country. It is one of the most sought after examinations in India. Even amidst the pandemic, out of the total students who had registered for JEE Advanced, 96% attendance was recorded for the JEE Advanced exam. Reports say that a total of 1,51,311 candidates wrote Paper 1 and 1,50,900 candidates appeared in Paper 2 of the JEE Advanced 2020 exam.

Chirag Falor from Pune topped the JEE Advanced 2020 exams. He has decided not to join IIT and has joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology . He is currently pursuing his education from MIT.

JEE- Joint Entrance Examination is conducted every year. It is an engineering entrance assessment conducted for admission to various engineering colleges in the country. The assessment consists of two exams namely the JEE Main and the JEE Advanced. It is a very prestigious examination and is considered as one of the fifteen toughest exams in the world. Lakhs of candidates appear every year for JEE Mains from which less than half of the candidates qualify for JEE Advanced.

JEE Main is the eligibility test that allows students to take the JEE Advanced exam. The results of these exams decide the entrance of students to 23 IITs across the country and a few other centrally funded institutes like IISc Bangalore, IISER and RGIPT Amethi. It is a prestigious examination and students enroll in coaching centers and other educational institutes to help them crack this exam. Qualifying the exam will let the students enroll in:

  • 4-year Bachelors - BTech, BS
  • 5-year BArch
  • 5-year Dual Degree - BTech, MTech, BS, MS
  • 5-year Integrated Masters - MTech, MSc, Dual Degree

The topper, Chirag Falor said that he has been preparing for this exam for more than four years. He got a whopping score of 352 out 0f 396 and had scored 100 percent in the JEE Mains. His dream is to hold a PhD in astrophysics and as mentioned above, he is pursuing his education from MIT. He also added that students must not lose hope and the preparations can be tedious.
