How To Be A KVS Teacher?

What is KVS? KVS stands for 'Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan', and is one of the largest organizations with almost 1,247 schools all over India. A large number of students in India attend KVS and hence, the government makes sure to recruit eligible and talented teachers to teach these students effectively and efficiently.

In order to recruit efficient teachers, KVS keeps on conducting various teaching exams such as TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher), PGT (Post Graduate Teacher), PRT (Primary Teachers), these exams and recruitment opportunities are open to candidates all over India. The vacancies released by KVS are generally 8000+ in number and teaching at KVS is a golden opportunity for all the aspiring as well as existing teachers in India. KVS Age Limit

KVS conducts exams for three different levels, which are TGT, PGT, and PRT respectively and the age limit varies for all these levels. The age limit for the TGT level is 35 years, for the PGT level it is 40 years and for PRT the age limit is 30 years. If a candidate is willing to apply as a teacher in KVS, they should keep a check on whether they fall under the age limit criteria set by the government and KVS.

Eligibility Criteria for KVS

The eligibility criteria for KVS also differ from level to level, let's discuss the eligibility of KVS in ascending order i.e. PRT, TGT, and PGT.

PRT Eligibility Criteria

KVS generally releases almost 3000+ vacancies for PRT teachers every year. The eligibility criteria to apply for the same are as follows :-

  • The candidate must have passed the 12th standard with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized board and a two-year diploma in elementary education from a reputed institution.
  • The candidate must have passed the 12th standard with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized board and a four-year degree in elementary education.
  • The candidate must have passed the 12th standard with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized board, hold a two-year diploma in elementary education, and must have qualified for the CTET exam conducted by the government of India.

TGT Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks in the concerned subjects as well as overall.
  • The candidate must hold a B.Ed. degree from a well-recognized university.
  • The candidate must have qualified for the CTET paper two or should be appearing for CTET.
  • The candidate must be proficient in both Hindi and English.

PGT Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must hold a master's degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • The candidate must hold a B.Ed degree or a degree equivalent to it from a recognized university.
  • The candidate must be proficient in both Hindi and English.

The selection process of KVS includes a written exam as well as an interview round, only after qualifying in these both stages can a person reach the final stage of being a teacher. The KVS exam is considered to be tough by many candidates but that is not the truth, if prepared well with little concentration, hard work, smart work, and dedication, KVS exam is not a stone that can not be unturned. The KVS exam is organized by 'The Central Government under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The exam is generally conducted offline for all three posts- PRT, TGT, and PGT.
