Making Dreams Come True: Er. Altaf Husain
“Why are you leaving your corporate job? What if your coaching institute doesn’t work? Will you be able to earn equal or more than your MNC job paid you? Will you be able to become a good teacher, it’s a huge responsibility?
Yes, these were the questions everyone asked me when I decided to quit my decent-paying job at an MNC. The amount of criticism that I received almost succeeded in suppressing my confidence, but I decided to fight back. Today, all those people who questioned my dreams and decisions send me their good wishes. My hard work and consistency have finally paid off. The Diamond Educator Trophy has added feathers to the cap, I feel extremely proud & confident now”, mentioned Altaf Sir while sharing his success story with our team.
Er. Altaf Husain is a Mathematics and Physics teacher from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Along with teaching Mathematics & Physics to the students of classes 11th & 12th, he also takes foundation batches for the NEET & JEE aspirants. With thousands of ups and downs, his journey has been nothing less than a rollercoaster ride. Immediately after finishing B.tech, he got a campus placement in a prestigious firm(at a handsome package). However, within some days of joining, he decided to quit the job and start something of his own. He moved back to his hometown and while he was figuring out the right idea, his friends asked him to teach their siblings. Altaf Sir used to help his classmates back in college, so he decided to take up the opportunity. The number of students kept increasing and before he knew it, one of his students was the second topper of the Prayagraj city. People started praising him and the teaching journey that he started with two students reached three hundred students in no time.
Although he was earning a good amount of money by teaching students, something that he missed was the appreciation for his work. The student & parents community were all supportive, but that was not enough. However, things started changing after he started teaching on Teachmint
“I earn a decent amount of money by teaching 300 students, however, the happiness and satisfaction that the Diamond Educator Award has brought me is priceless. I feel rewarded for all the efforts I made in the past 6 years, I have a new zeal & encouragement to teach. My parents and students were delighted when the trophy came home, I am thankful to Teachmint for all the support and appreciation.”
Altaf Sir also shared that he has 15 students enrolled in his online classes whom he has never met personally. Even when the lockdown was lifted, they never attended the offline classes. That is when he realized that some students find online classes much better. He strongly believes that students should study in whichever mode they feel more comfortable with. He added that he would love to continue teaching in the hybrid model to provide flexible access to quality education to all the students connected with him.
While concluding his success story, Altaf Sir also shared an inspiring message for the educators who have just started their online teaching journey-
“ No dream is unachievable if an individual puts in the right amount of effort and dedication towards achieving it. Online teaching is a blessing as it connects you to the students sitting miles away from you, grab the opportunity, and utilize your full potential to shine. If you are passionate about your work, just keep moving, take small steps each day, and never give up. You will surely achieve your dreams someday. ”
Altaf Sir is a live demonstration of Tamara Taylor's saying "As long as you keep going, you'll keep getting better. And as you get better, you gain more confidence. That alone is a success."
We are proud to be associated with such an inspiring teacher like Altaf Sir, we wish him all the best for his future.
