“Teaching is the only profession that creates all the other professions”
This was Dwibhashyam SRL Sarma sir’s motivation behind choosing teaching as a profession for himself. Sir DSRL Sarma is a Mathematics teacher who hails from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. He graduated from Andhra University and strongly believes that pursuing B.Sc in Mathematics was one of the best decisions of his educational career. DSRL sir has been teaching for the past twenty-seven years and considers teaching to be his passion rather than a money-minting profession. He is a multi-talented teacher and he loves expanding his horizons. Along with teaching as a school teacher, he also runs a youtube channel with numerous informational videos. He also runs an online coaching institute on Teachmint with more than four hundred students enrolled and registered in his classes. “Earlier, I used to think that online education is not an effective or efficient way of teaching, but then one decision changed my perspective. Although I was teaching hundreds and thousands of students for the past twenty-seven years, something was missing. However, I gradually observed that online teachers are more productive and efficient. I decided to become an online teacher as well. I came across Teachmint and decided to give online teaching a shot, and I feel proud of my decision every day. Teachmint is not only an online teaching app but a platform that helps students and teachers connect with each other very well. My students love attending my online classes and consider them very interesting. I give all the credits to Teachmint for the wonderful features they provide. Although I am a Mathematics teacher, I make sure to ask them important questions like ‘who is the president of India’ or ‘who won the Nobel prizes in 2021’ through the live polls feature. Although it’s DSRL Sir’s first year as an online teacher, he believes that the qualities of a good teacher remain the same for both online as well as offline teachers. With his twenty-seven years of teaching experience, he shared a few qualities that every good teacher should have.
He believes that every teacher should primarily try to understand the educational needs of their students. He says that a teacher’s job is to first make sure that the students are thorough with the basics of any concept and then move ahead with the advanced level. The other important quality he points out is maintaining a healthy relationship with the students and giving them a space to grow.
