What is DSAT?

Organised by the Dayanand Sagar University situated in Bengaluru, DSAT or Dayanand Sagar Admission Test is a national level entrance examination that candidates need to appear to secure admission in the UG and PG courses offered by the University. DSAT is conducted through both online and offline modes. At present, DSU offers 1560 seats for undergraduate programs and 235 seats for postgraduate programs.

DSAT Eligibility Criteria

In order to qualify to appear for this entrance examination, candidates have to meet a certain set of criteria.

  • The candidate must have completed 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized board.
  • The candidate must have obtained a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university.
  • They must have attained a Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks.
  • They must have secured a minimum of 45% in the 12th standard or equivalent from a recognized board.
  • There is no age limit for appearing DSAT. Further, all Indian citizens, NRI as well as foreign candidates can sit for this examination.

How Can You Register For DSAT?

To fill out DSAT’s application form and register for the exam, you have to follow the steps given below:

  • Go to DSU’s official website. Here, you’ll come across a DSAT registration button. Click on it and enter your personal details.
  • Once you have specified the details, you will receive an OTP on the phone number you have provided. This will only be valid for a few minutes, so stay alert.
  • Enter the OTP to complete the registration process. Next, you have to fill out the application form.
  • Here, you will be asked to scan and upload a variety of documents.
  • After all the details have been filled out, you will need to deposit the application fees.
  • For your own reference as well as future use, download a copy of your application form and save it.

Documents Needed To Register For DSAT

When you sit down to fill out DSAT’s application form, you will be asked to scan and upload several documents. They have been listed below:

  • Passport size photograph
  • Matriculation mark sheet
  • Higher secondary mark sheet
  • If you are applying for a PG course, you need to upload your graduation mark sheet.
  • If you already have a PG, upload your PG mark sheet.
  • A government identified ID proof

  • Domicile certificate (if applicable)
  • Signature of the candidate

Additionally, candidates will have to deposit an application fee of INR 1,000. The amount is the same for all candidates irrespective of their category (General, SC, ST, OBC).

DSAT Exam Pattern

The DSAT paper comprises a total of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Candidates are provided with 2 hours to attempt them. Each question carries one mark, and there is no negative marking. The medium of instruction is English.
