‘The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.’ ― William Arthur Ward
In this segment of Teachers of Teachmint let us talk about Khusbu Shah, a Trained Graduate Teacher from Ranchi, Jharkhand. Khusbu Ma’am is a talented and skilled teacher, she loves her profession more than anything. Her teaching journey started right after she completed her graduation. Khusbu Ma’am picked up a teaching job while pursuing Bachelors of Education(B.ed) degree. She developed a love for teaching and decided to take up teaching as a permanent profession. It's been four years since she took that decision and today, she runs her own coaching class on Teachmint by the name of ‘Learning with fun’.
Her journey as an online educator began when the pandemic hit the world, it was difficult for the teachers to continue with offline teaching. She did not want to risk the health of her students, but their academic loss was also not something she wanted. To ensure the safety of her students and herself, Khusbu Ma’am decided to become an online educator. However, it was going to be her first experience as an online teacher and she had gazillion questions in mind. “How am I going to set up an online classroom? How will I manage student attendance? What about tests and revisions?”, many other questions like this used to revolve around her mind throughout. However, when she heard about Teachmint and its features, she was impressed. She decided to install the app without wasting a single minute.
“There are a lot of features that a teacher needs for teaching online and I was surprised to see that Teachmint had all the features that I was looking for. It felt as if the app was designed especially for catering to my needs. Since I teach very young students as well, not being able to provide them with a good learning experience was my biggest fear. However, it all seemed effortless with the top-notch features of Teachmint. Taking accurate online attendance, making test papers, uploading study material, etc. Teachmint covers it all.”
While talking about the online teaching-learning experience, she also shared a small message for all the students. She said that more than any quality that a good student must have, they should have a learning spirit. There will be several hurdles in the way, but they should have the will to find a way and keep going, she added. She strongly believes that online learning may be a new experience for many teachers as well as students and it becomes the responsibility of both parties to understand each other well and help each other wherever needed. She also mentioned that the duty of a teacher is to provide the right knowledge to the students and show them the right path, rest all depends on their choices. She also recalls a quote by The Arturians “Your work is not to drag the world kicking and screaming into a new awareness. Your job is to simply do your work sacredly, secretly, silently and those with eyes to see and ears to hear will respond.”
Khusbu Ma’am clearly demonstrates the benefits of perseverance and a positive attitude. The amount of effort that she puts in, the passion with which she speaks, the kind of energy that she gives out is truly inspiring and motivating. Teachmint is proud to be a part of such a strong and wonderful journey!
