Mantosh Kalashastri is a fine arts teacher who provides arts classes to students of standards 10-12. Moreover, he helps his students understand what they can do to make a career in fine arts. He has formed a group, Shilpapankan Fine Art Group, to help students learn about various aspects of art and culture. Talking about his journey as a fine arts teacher, he says, ‘When I was doing my graduation, I used to write letters and make paintings. It was more of a hobby and also served as a source of income for me. Then, I decided to make a career out of my passion for arts and crafts. To get more clarity on the subject, I decided to do my undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Fine Arts. Right now, I am doing my Ph.D. in the same field.’ Mantosh Sir also adds that he worked as a contractual teacher under the Uttar Pradesh government for approximately four years. During that phase, he helped multiple students understand the basics of fine arts and explore different aspects of the subject.
To explore his love for art and culture, Mantosh Sir is also associated with various projects under the Archeological Survey of India. His task is to restore famous paintings that were made hundreds of years ago.
