Tripura TET
Tripura Teacher Eligibility Test is an entrance examination for aspirants who wish to become teachers in government schools of Tripura. The exam is conducted by The Teacher’s Recruitment Board Tripura. This Offline Examination is organized annually to shortlist the aspirants and improve the quality of education in all the schools of the state. The Teacher’s Recruitment Board Tripura conducts the exam to recruit teachers at the Primary level (1-5 standard) in Paper 1 and Upper Primary level (6-8 standard) in paper 2 in the state. This examination is patterned as per the approved framework of the National Curriculum.

Eligibility Criteria
As per any examination policy, Tripura TET also sets a few basic eligibility criteria for its candidates. These criteria help in shortlisting the candidature and approving the best-qualified aspirants for the post of teacher.
Age Limit
The age limit for applying for Tripura Teacher Eligibility Test varies from 18years to 40years.
Nationality
The candidate should be an Indian Citizen with a domicile certificate of Tripura.
Educational Qualification
The basic educational qualification requirement for Tripura TET varies as per the category for which an individual is applying.
Paper I - Primary Class Teacher (Class I-V)
The following criteria are important for applying for Paper I:
- Candidates are required to complete their class 12th with an aggregate of 50%.
- They should have a degree or diploma in Elementary Education/ Special Education.
OR
- They should have a degree or diploma in Bachelors in Education (B.ED).
Paper II - Upper Primary Class Teacher (Class VI-VIII)
The following criteria are important for applying for Paper I:
- Candidates are required to complete their class 12th with an aggregate of 50%.
- A graduation degree with an aggregate of 50% marks.
- They should have a degree or diploma in Elementary Education/ Special Education.
OR
- They should have a degree or diploma in B.ED/B.El.Ed/B.A Ed/B.Sc.Ed
How to apply?
Candidates who match the eligibility criteria can apply for Tripura TET by either directly going to the trb.tripura.gov.in website. Tripura TET Registration is done by filling up the online form on the portal. Candidates need to post required documents on the site and then have to pay for the registration. A sum of INR 300 is charged from General Category aspirants and INR 200 from SC/ST categories is collected via the offline challan method. In case any individual faces difficulties in filling the form or has queries then multiple helpline numbers and help desk email ids are provided on the website to assist the candidates.
After the acceptance of the form and payment, an Admit Card is generated which enables an individual to sit for the Tripura TET examination. Admit cards should be downloaded at the online portal as the hardcopy is not sent or issued in any other form.
The pattern of the Examination
There are 150 questions in the MCQ-based questionnaire. Each level is broken down into sections based on the syllabus and the weightage assigned to each subject according to the test paper. There is no negative grading and each right question receives one mark.
Syllabus for the Examination
The syllabus varies as per the demand of the section of class an individual is applying for.
T-TET Syllabus for Category - I
It is advisable to focus more on classroom-oriented topics in regard to the Primary classes from I-V.
The following subjects should be studied as per the understanding of students from the age of 6years to 11 years:
- Mathematics
- Environmental Studies
- Language I - Bengali/Kokborok
- Language II - English
- Child Development and Pedagogy
T-TET Syllabus for Category - II
It is advisable to focus more on classroom-oriented topics in regard to the Primary classes from VI-VIII.
The following subjects should be studied as per the understanding of students from the age of 11years to 15 years:
- Language I - Bengali/Kokborok
- Language II - English
- Child Development and Pedagogy
- Mathematics/Science/Social Studies for respective subject teachers and any one of the subjects for any other subject teacher.

While preparing for this examination it is advisable that the candidates should be updated with all the syllabus of the category they are applying for and practice as many sample papers as possible.
