Dr. Vivek Singh has been teaching for more than 8 years. Online teaching was new to him. He was not well versed with the online teaching platforms and how they work. With the Pandemic and the lockdown, he was a little shook but never ever gave up on his students and teaching. He is a Professor of Political Science at the University of Allahabad.
The pandemic and the sudden lockdown brought in way too many hurdles. He wanted to continue teaching and initially, he recorded and uploaded his teaching videos on YouTube. However, there was zero interaction with the students and he felt that’s not the way the children should learn. He was not very tech-savvy and his students helped him through some of the platforms. They assisted him in understanding different apps and they had also suggested newer platforms for him to explore. They had suggested Zoom but the 40 minute time limit and the restriction on the number of students who could attend at a time stood out as a major drawback.
He came across Teachmint through YouTube and has been using the app ever since. He started in August 2020 and uses Teachmint daily for 3-4 hours. He handles three classes with more than 300 students in each class. It was easy for him to understand the app even though he was not tech-savvy. He has been able to increase the number of students that attended his classes after posting about it on social media and he says that Teachmint has helped him to achieve it. He loves how he doesn’t have to spend time taking attendance because of the automated attendance feature and how efficient the live recording feature is.
