SUPER TET 2021- A Complete Guide

The Super Teacher Eligibility Test, commonly known as the SUPER TET is considered to be one of the most prestigious exams in India. The candidates who qualify for this exam are further appointed as teachers in the primary and secondary schools under the Uttar Pradesh Government(private schools can also be approached). These teachers are appointed to teach the students belonging to classes 1-5 and class 6-8 depending upon their choice and eligibility.

SUPER TET ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 2021

In order to avoid the chances of getting disqualified at the further stages, a candidate should make sure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria of the examination. The first and foremost requirement is that the candidate shall be a graduate of a recognized university with minimum passing marks. The second important thing on the checklist is that the candidate must have qualified for either CTET or UPTET examination.

DIFFERENT ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR PAPER 1 AND PAPER 2

There are two different exams conducted by the government to ensure flexibility for the candidates with different choices. Candidates who want to become a teacher for students of class one to fifth can simply appear for the 'paper 1' whereas the candidates who want to teach the students of class sixth to eight must appear for the 'paper 2'.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR SUPER TET PAPER I

(Classes 1 to 5)

NOTE: Any one and at least one of the below-mentioned educational qualification criteria shall be fulfilled by the candidates who want to appear for the teaching exam called SUPER TET.

● The candidate must have passed class 12th with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized board and must have completed a two-year diploma in elementary education, for example- D.El.Ed.

● The candidate must hold a four-year bachelor's degree in elementary education, for example- B.El.Ed with a minimum of 50% passing marks in the 12th standard from a recognized board.

● The candidate must hold a Graduation Degree and also a bachelor's in education(B.Ed) degree.

● The candidate must have a Graduation Degree and must have passed a 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education.

● The candidate must have passed class 12th with at least 50% marks and must have also passed in the final year of a two-years Diploma in Education (Special Education).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR SUPER TET PAPER II

(CLASSES 6-8)

NOTE: Any one and at least one of the below-mentioned educational qualification criteria shall be fulfilled by the candidates who want to appear for the teaching exam called SUPER TET.

● The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree and basic training certificate(BTC) from National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

● The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks and a degree in B.Ed / B.Ed Special Education from the RCI that is the Rehabilitation Council Of India.

● The candidate must obtain a minimum of 50% marks in the 12th standard from a recognized board and 4 years in B.A/ B.Sc.Ed/ B.A.Ed from N.C.T.E and UGC with the recognized institute.

● The candidate must have scored at least 50% marks in the 12th standard from a recognized board and also 4 years primary education for example- in B.El.Ed. ● The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 45% marks and must also have a B.Ed degree.

AGE LIMIT FOR SUPER TET 2021

The SUPER TET exam has always been very strict about its age limit criteria hence, any candidate willing to apply for the SUPER TET examination 2021 must ensure that they should fulfill the age limit criteria as per mentioned by the government. The age limit for all the candidates is 21 to 40 years which means that any candidates whose age is less than 21 years or more than 40 years will not be eligible to appear for the SUPER TET exam. Although, the government provides relaxation to the people belonging to certain categories such as SC, SC, PWD, etc. The relaxation for the candidates falling under the SC/ST/OBC category is up to 5 years whereas the relaxation for the candidates belonging to the PWD category is 15 years with a condition that- on the date of appointment, the age of the candidate shall not exceed than 55 years.

SUPER TET SYLLABUS FOR 2021

The SUPER TET syllabus can be called an ocean of knowledge due to the diversity it offers a candidate to study, these subjects and topics are more or less related to what the candidates must have read in their 10th and 12t standard. Let's talk about the SUPER TET syllabus in detail.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE

The first important subject in the syllabus of SUPER TET is the English Language which demands a deep understanding of topics like English Language, Reading Comprehension, Questions related to comprehension, Antonyms, and Synonyms, Parts of Speech, Spotting error, Sentence Correction, Vocabulary, Active Passive Voice, Direct and Indirect speech by the candidate.

● CHILD PSYCHOLOGY

Being a teacher means having a good understanding of Child psychology and hence, Factors affecting child development, Personal variation, Identification of learning needs, Creating environments for study, Theories of learning and their practical utility and use in classroom teaching, Special arrangements for disabled Candidates, etc.

● HINDI AND SANSKRIT

The other important subjects are Hindi and Sanskrit and the topics necessarily to be covered under them are अपठि त गद्यांश,पद्यांश,व्याकरण (अलकं ार, समास, रस, छंद, सधिं धि, उपसर्ग और प्रत्यय, वचन,कारक, सज्ञं ा, लि गं , सर्वनर्व ाम आदि ).

● MATHEMATICS

Mathematics includes an understanding and practice of concepts like Numerical ability & Mathematical Actions, Decimal, General algebra, Fraction, Interest, Profit and loss, Percentage & Factor, Area, Average, Volume, Ratio, Logos, General geometry, General statistics, etc.

● INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Information Technology includes the knowledge about Information in the field of teaching skills, Art teaching and school management, Technical Knowledge: computers, internet, smartphones, Useful applications in teaching, Digital & Teaching materials, etc.

● LIFE SKILL/ MANAGEMENT AND APTITUDE

Life skill/ Management and Aptitude asks for a good understanding of Professional conduct and policy, Motivation and Role of education, Constitutional and original origins, Penal and punishments effective, etc.

● ENVIRONMENT AND SOCIAL STUDY

Environment and social study include topics such as Earth’s structure & Rivers, Mountains & Continents, Oceans and Fauna, Natural wealth & Latitude, Solar system, Indian geography, Indian freedom struggle & social reformer, Indian Constitution & governance system, Traffic and road safety, Indian economy and challenges.

● TEACHING SKILLS

Then comes an important subject called teaching skills that include the topics such as Teaching methods and skills, Principles of learning, Indian society and elementary education, Inclusive education & New initiatives for elementary education, Educational evaluation, and measurement, Initial formation skills, and administration, etc.

● REASONING ABILITY

Reasoning ability includes the understanding of Analogies & Classification, Aeration and Region, Binary Logic and Calendars, Inequalities, Coding-Decoding, Critical reasoning, Cube Number & Letter Series, Puzzles, Symbol, and Notations, Venn Diagram and Dice, Direction and distance sense, etc.
